Fundraising Report |
05 June 2008
|
Looking to the future we recognise that we continue to face a challenging fundraising environment especially as we plan major renovations and capital expenditure over the next few years. The more challenging funding environment means we must address issues such as visitor numbers and how best to provide our services. In the meantime we are budgeting for a further and larger shortfall this year.
Whilst organisations such as the Fundraising Standards Board are saying that fundraising is in a tough year due to uncertainty of th UK economy, this does not necessarily reflect the income that is likely to be received from charitable trusts that are a major source of our voluntary income. Nevertheless, there are increasing demands upon those charitable trusts due, in part, to a reduction in Lottery funding and many are now restricting how often they can be re-approached.
