Volunteering Opportunities

We are always interested in hearing from people interested in volunteering for us. Volunteers assist with sailing, drive motor boats, help with routine maintenance, and work in the office helping with admin, marketing and publicity. Administrator/Receptionist

The Nancy Oldfield Trust requires an enthusiastic Administrator/Receptionist to join our small team at our Centre in Neatishead.

This is a job share post.

Salary: £7708 p/a.
Average of 13.75 hours per week @£10.78 = £7708 p/a.
Hours of Work: 0830hrs to 1400hrs.
Days of work to be agreed, but usually a pattern of two mornings one week and three mornings the following week.
There would be an expectation of some flexibility over working days.

Annual Leave: 5 weeks (pro rata), plus bank holidays

The post-holder will be entitled to join the Trust’s pension scheme.

You will work with your job share colleague to provide a cheery and friendly welcome to all our visitors in reception as well as efficient and effective administrative support in the office. This involves contacting and coordinating our visitors and volunteers, taking bookings and payments, operating our booking system, answering telephone and e-mail inquiries and providing other office support to our small staff team.

Based in Neatishead near Wroxham, the Nancy Oldfield Trust is a small and friendly local charity which, for over 30 years, has provided sailing, motor-boating and other water-based activities for people who are disabled or disadvantaged in some way. We have a staff of six plus seventy-five active volunteers. We have a self-catering accessible bungalow, a fleet of 10 yachts and three motor cruisers plus canoes and support boats. We welcome visitors of all ages from all over the UK to the Broads. The Trust is also a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training and Sailability Centre.

Changing Tack Project Facilitator

The Nancy Oldfield Trust requires an enthusiastic person to join our small team as our ‘Changing Tack’ Project Facilitator at the Trust Centre in Neatishead.

Salary: £7,848p/a.
14 hours per week @ £10.78 per hour
Hours and days of the week to be worked flexibly as required.

Annual Leave - 25 days (pro rata) plus bank holidays.

The post-holder will be entitled to join the Trust’s pension scheme.

You will develop the established ‘Changing Tack’ program which supports vulnerable people of all ages who can benefit from taking part in the water-based activities provided by the Trust. There is a particular emphasis on working with vulnerable women and children but recently we have been working with organisations supporting people recovering from addiction problems. Although the Changing Tack Facilitator role is primarily office based you will welcome and support existing groups, seek and encourage new visitors to the Trust and work closely with instructor colleagues to develop suitable programmes for visitors in various imaginative ways. There will be flexibility within the role to enable you to accompany and support visiting groups on activities on the water as appropriate. A significant part of the role will be to promote and market ‘Changing Tack’ to new visitors.
