As many people will know, we are having some work done to improve access for visitors to the boats. Manager Stephen Bradnock writes “The end of the slipway is in sight. The slip itself is now in place, the concrete poured and set last week. The estimation is that by the end of next week the bulk of the works should be largely complete. The metalwork to fix the boards to the face of the slip is now in place and one half of the boards fitted, the capping and waling on either side of the slip is being completed and the handrails fitted. Groundworks for the washdown pad and permeable brick path to the eastern side of the slipway are underway today and concrete will be poured next week.” Quite technical, but basically means it is nearly finished!
