Bryony on new Pioner

Our new adapted Pioner support boat has been in action this summer supporting all our boating activities. Thanks to its specially  adapted steering console, which slides forward to allow wheelchair access, several of our wheelchair using visitors have been able to get behind the wheel of a power boat for the first time. As well as the adaptation to the console, carried out by Paul Richards from Morton Boats in Lincolnshire, the boat also features a twin kill cord for extra safety and handrails to enable easy boarding via the drop down bow door. The new grey Pioner replaces one of our older and  slightly smaller yellow Pioners which has given us excellent service over the last few years. The new boat was purchased with grant support from the Business Resilience Recovery Scheme, the Norfolk Social Infrastructure Fund, the Hedley Foundation and players of People’s Postcode Lottery and will provide us with a safe and robust support and safety boat for many years to come.
