Sailing on the Norfolk Broads

The annual 3RR, organized by Horning Sailing club took place last weekend (26th and 27th. May). This a 24 hour race that covers around 50 miles of rivers on the Norfolk Broads, starting and finishing at Horning, going to Hickling Broad, down to Stracey Arms up to Ludham bridge and onto South Walsham Broad. It involves dropping and raising the mast 4 times to go through Acle and Potter Heigham bridges.

96 started the race .71 completed the course inside the allowed 24hours.

Henry Bird and Lester Wellerd, sailing Waveney W31 Valarian finished 42

Ted Coates in his Thune class Gentilly finished in 56th place

David & Hilary Lennard Jones, Charles Hare-Winton and Paul Charlish sailing an Eastwood Whelpton River Cruiser Bootlegger 57th.
