Based in Neatishead near Wroxham, the Nancy Oldfield Trust is a small and friendly local registered charity which provides sailing, motor-boating and other water-based activities for people who are disabled and/or disadvantaged in some way. We welcome visitors to the Broads of all ages from all over the UK. The Trust is also a Royal Yachting Association recognised training centre.
The successful applicant will be responsible for accounting and book-keeping duties and for maintaining all financial records of the Trust, supporting the Treasurer and Centre Manager. Please see full job description and person specification for more information.
Salary: £15.50ph
Hours of Work: 12 hours per week (this is currently split between Mondays and Thursdays, but we are willing to consider other workings patterns to suit the right candidate).

Annual Leave: 5 weeks plus bank holidays (pro rata) and there is a local arrangement of extra variable leave days between Christmas and New Year.

Part Time Finance Assistant Job Description & Person Specification
The Nancy Oldfield Trust is a registered charity which offers accessible boating and accommodation on the Norfolk Broads for visitors who are disabled and/or disadvantaged.
The aim of this position is to provide efficient and effective accounting and bookkeeping for the Nancy Oldfield Trust in routine operational matters relating to finance. You will be responsible for keeping the Centre Manager of the Nancy Oldfield Trust fully appraised of the relevant financial system, providing information as required for the Trustees.
Working from our office in Neatishead, (near Wroxham) 12 hours per week. Currently split between Mondays and Thursdays, but these days could be negotiable for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
· Providing the Centre Manager with all necessary financial information and ensuring timely payment of invoices.
· Recording and safeguarding all monies received, paying them into the Bank on a regular basis as directed by the Centre Manager.
· Operating in detail the sales, bought purchase and nominal ledgers using VT transactions +.
· Maintaining a petty cash float and ensuring systems are followed for reimbursement of small expenses.
· Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence on routine financial matters.
· Maintaining the filing system for financial records.
· Generating invoices for bookings and following up payments and deposits for bookings as necessary.
· Reconciling figures from the booking system with paper receipts and cash taken.
· Maintaining reconciliation of the weekly takings, both petty cash and card transactions.
· Supporting the Treasurer, authorised Trustees and Centre Manager in matters relating to maintaining liquidity.
· Providing Centre Manager with weekly and monthly financial reports and monthly visitor figures
Shared Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Centre Manager providing information to the Treasurer to support the development of the annual budget.
· Maintaining communications with the Trust Fundraiser to accurately record and identify the type and status of grants when received.
· Undertaking any other reasonable tasks as required by the Centre manager and/or Trustees, which may on occasion fall outside normal working hours.
· Is willing to undertake formal training where and when required.
· Adheres to all health and safety directives and internal instructions and procedures.
· Understands and implements equality and diversity in the workplace and in the services the Trust provides.
· Acts at all times, in the best interests of the Trust, upholding its aims, ethos, and reputation whilst maintaining confidentiality.
Relationships:
· Works with the Treasurer who provides support, guidance and oversight.
· Provides information to members of the Executive Committee as requested by the Centre Manager.

Person Specification
Qualifications (evidence of certificates will be required)
A good level of general education.
AAT qualified bookkeeper (AATQB) or Level 3 Advanced Diploma qualification in Accounting.
Experience
Experience of maintaining routine financial records is essential.
A good working knowledge of Windows and VT Transactions + (or similar accounting software) is essential.
Experience of working in a Charity is desirable.
Familiarity with booking systems is desirable.
Knowledge of the voluntary sector is desirable.
Knowledge of water-based activities is desirable.
