THIS is what we are all about – make sailing accessible to everyone. Lucy recently visited us to sail with volunteer Andrew in our RS Venture which has bucket style forward facing seats and joystick controls.
This is what Lucy’s Mum had to say….
‘It’s not easy having a person with disabilities in your family where is a safe place you can take them? Will they enjoy the experience? Will they be able to have some kind of independence? Will they feel achievement? By chance we found the Nancy Oldfield trust, they are amazing and yes our daughter Lucy got all of the above. The staff are friendly supportive and caring, Lucy went out on a sailing boat with Andrew, the chair they used held her in a supportive position and kept her up straight, we followed in the rescue boat Lucy had the freedom of doing something without mum and dad being with her. Lucy loves it. We are so lucky to have found such an amazing place, thank you to them all’
